Many depictions of the solar system provide visual comparisons in terms of scale, but I haven’t seen many that include other information, such as the number of moons per planet, distance from the sun, and number of missions to each planet. This was an attempt to create a more multi-dimensional view of the solar system in a concise infographic.

I started by creating numerous rough sketches to figure out the layout and ensure that all of the important elements would fit comfortably together. A modified isometric view allowed me to position the planets on a diagonal and include additional data on either side of the main visual axis.

Only after completing the infographic did I realize that the larger planets have more moons — a result of their stronger gravitational force.
